Pacilio Law Firm was born in Bologna in Via Galliera 20, at Palazzo Tanari, a historical building of the XVII-th century, which owes its name to an ancient and noble family, who had built and lived in it.
In 2003 it moved to Via Sant’Isaia, 27/2 into a more spacious office, which has permitted to offer not only more comfortable conditions for work to its own staff, but also to elevate the service quality offered to its clients.
It consists of the head of the firm – lawyer Mauro Pacilio, its principal and owner, of the associate lawyer Giovanni PACILIO, two staff lawyers and two secretaries. There are always present also practisising laywers.
The Pacilio Law Firm offers its customers a consolidated experience in the area of legal practice, while also providing them legal assistance throughout the entire Italian territory thanks to its network of reliable partners from the main Italian cities.
Pacilio Law Firm handles cases in the areas of Civil Law, Trade and Corporate Law, Criminal Law, Trade Criminal Law and Administrative Law, while also being enabled to defend in the Supreme Italian Court. Languages spoken in the firm: Italian, French, English, Spanish.




Avv. Mauro Pacilio

Mauro Pacilio, the owner and the head of Pacilio Law Firm, located in Bologna, Via Sant’Isaia, 27/2, was born in Bologna, is married and has two sons.

Having his background in classical studies (High School Diploma, obtained at Classic Liceum “Minghetti” in Bologna), he has received his B.A. in Law at the University of Bologna in 1978, under the supervision of Prof. Fabio Alberto Roversi Monaco with a grade 110 of 110.

During his undergraduate studies he has been an associate and an editor of Law Journals “Quale Giustizia”; “La Questione Criminale”, published in Bologna. During his military service from 01.10.1978 to 31.12.1979 he acted as

Revenue Enforcement Officer. Attorney at Law (since 28.07.1981) and Lawyer (since 20.01.1992), Mr. Pacilio is also Barrister (26.02.1998), entitled to handle cases in the Italian Supreme Court (“Corte di Cassazione”).

Free-lance journalist, he specialised himself in Administrative Law and in Administration (26.10.1987), while also writing academic papers for several Law Journals.

Honorary Judge, both in the Tax Commission and as Vice-Public Prosecutor, Mauro Pacilio has also taught Law at the Centre for Street Police Training in the town of Cesena and at the Centre for Railway Police Training in Bologna.

Honorary Scholar for the Chair of Constitutional Law at the University of Bologna, held by Professor Augusto Barbera. Visiting professor at the University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia”, medical faculty, geriatry specialization school (1997-1998 scholastic year).

Mr. Mauro Pacilio has also been conferred the title of Chevalier of the Order to the Merit of the Italian Republic awarded by the Presidential Decree of 02.06.1992 and of the Official of the Order to the Merit of the Italian Republic by the Presidential Decree of 02.06.1997 and Knight of the Order to the Merit of the Italian Republic with Presidential decree emitted in date 02.06.2004.

As stated in the deed issued 18.03.1998 by the President of the Bologna Court of Appeal and upon National Council of the Order of Journalists designation, Mr. Pacilio was a member of the Bench, entitled to decide about the appeals against the decisions taken by the National Council of the Order of Journalists during the period from 1998 to 2001.

Mr. Pacilio is specialised in the areas of Criminal Law, Food Criminal Law, Commercial Criminal Law and Corporate Civil Law.

    • Assistant at the Chair of Constitutional Law Prof. Andrea Morrone – Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, from October 2016 to December 2017.

    • Journalist, with resolution on 14.05.2020 of the Regional Council of Emilia Romagna.

    • Official Commissioner of the Italian Red Cross Military Corps.

    • Diploma of Qualification Course for Armed Froces personnel in the field of application of International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflict.

    • Defender registered as a lawyer  on the lists of ex officio defenders  and also entitled to legal aid ex officio for Juvenile Criminal Proceedings.
